No, I haven't made it ...
This is not intended to be a rant / moan / etc but it has occurred to me that I believe the way in which you must get to Level 30 is wrong / unfair. Again, not ranting so stick with me ...
- To get XP you have various choices of missions, strikes, crucible or patrol. You choose the one that works for you and you hit Level 20.
- To get better armour and light, you can hope for engram drops, earn coins to spend with Xur or gain rep and marks to purchase vanguard / faction items.
- Ditto for weapons.
- For rep, marks and coins, you can do strikes, daily missions, weekly heroic / nightfall strikes or public events and patrols. And crucible, of course.
- For shards/energy you can do public events, daily/weekly missions, the Raid or crucible.
What do all of these have in common? Choice! Many options - some quick/luck based and some guaranteed but slower. You choose what works for you and go for it.
Now, Level 30? Only one way. No, I don't mean "do the Raid" - which in itself requires knowing 5 other people who play Destiny - what's the only way to hit Level 30? Luck.
Do the raid multiple times and hope you eventually get the bits of armour you need. Come on Bungie - that sucks!! I'm okay with that being ONE way to get to Level 30 but where has that choice gone? Where has my ability to get there via my own Destiny rather than relying on dumb luck?
Despite everything else levelled at the game, I believe this is the only true "break" in the current model.
Peace, folks - see you out there!

if you think about it though the frustration of not being level 30 is what keeps a lot of people playing. can you imagine what it would have been like if you could have hit level 30 in the first couple weeks via some guaranteed path. you would have 3 level 30 characters and only the hm raid and nightfall thats worth doing. the game would have gone stale. when you don't have the armour you want its worth doing the raid that one more time.
