Why aren't YOU using Shotguns in PVE?
Do share, why don't you use them? And I'd rather have more specific reason than "I don't like them" (which is a valid reason ofcourse), because I'm curious why don't you like them.

Depends on team and strike. Lots of thralls and teammates have goid sniper rifle to take the boss down...Then I grab my good, ol'shotty with enough death for all who try to stand on my teams toes :)
