Favorite thing in TF2 is to do exactly that.
Crouch and walk across the battlefield with your melee out, and chances are that someone will think you're a friend.
Next thing you know the whole team is doing a conga.
And then an Engineer puts up a turret...
Not to mention teleporter traps.
