The MAC tech in the halo universe is not the same as the tech in Star wars. They are simply talking low scale rail guns.
The MAC cannons in halo are 100xs bigger than the SWs universe.
In case you were unaware a mac round from a Carrier is the size of he millennium Falcon...

Buddy as you can see, Star Wars don't use projectiles. They use plasma and energy.

Magnetically accelerated projectiles that weigh thousands of tons.... That is the lowest tier weapon in Halo and it still shreds all SW hardware.
