I am reading Moby Dick but I want to know why it is so good. The professors and students in my program praise this book like it is god or something and I am not convinced yet. Any philosophy major or someone knowledgeable about the book actually know what is going on and why it may be a good read. Read past page 300 and I am bored!
Thanks for the advice if you have any.

1 ReplyI read it and did a few reports on it. By today's standards it's pretty boring. Now, I doubt people see the thrill and adventure of it all. It's just deemed to be a classic much like the time machine, Christmas carol or a dozen other books you have to read in any classic lit course. Honestly, I enjoyed it. But, not all "classics" are enjoyed by all.
