I don't understand your issue. You can obtain all of the faction gear without setting foot in PVP, frequently with better perks than are offered by the vendors. You can do this by: A) Ranking up with the factions B) Running Tiger strikes C) Completing the Nightfall strike D) Completing the weekly heroic strike E) Farming engrams F) Ranking up the Cryptarch G) Completing the daily heroic mission
