I would also suggest shielding on the outside of the station.

Something to add now is some trip mines for unauthorized ship arrival in the hangars. Must be deactivated before any ship can land.

I'd rather not risk the chance of blowing a hole in the side, internal gun turrets? Hangars can be vented/purged by deactivating the atmo shielding.
