Just some more ideas.. 
1)Let xür sell materials with strange coins
2)Add random bonuses to class itens,  like 
-auto dismantling green/blue itens.. 
-increasing overall defence or attack
3)Add rare/legendary timed class itens that last for 15mins/1 hour and give special abilities like:  
-adding void damage to all your weapons(those already with solar/arc would have a combo void+solar/void+arc) 
-ability to use two exotics weapons or armours at same time( when timer runs out one of them would auto unnequip) 
4)Add a new NPC that creates exotics not gotten from other place. But he only accepts other exotics as payment.  
Exemple:  
Suros+hard light+monte carlo for a new AR. 
Truth+Gjallahorn for a new rocket launcher. 
The payment has to be ALLexotics of that type (every exotic shotgun for the new exotic shotgun) 
Same thing goes for armours
P.S. : He may have problems at the process,  and both weapons will be destroyed,  leaving you with nothing.(50% chance)

	Point 1 was in effect in the Beta (I'm told) and for the first week from Xur. I would think that if people wanted to spend coin on it they should be allowed too, instead of farming for materials in the time they have to play. Point 2 +increasing ammo pickup range, +1 hour cool-down "full super energy", +Light cycle speed, +glow effects Point 3 should be used to get through tough Nightfalls and whatnot. Point 4 would be interesting to use, if you could pull one ability out of a destroyed weapon, and put it into another.

	Searching/scavenging for materials makes each upgrade more meaningful. The things that come easy have no value. I like the economy the way it is now. The Queen's armor almost ruined legendaries, so I'm glad that got the axe and a total re-work.
