Hate to say it but you missed, or tried to fire outside of its range. My average Rare shotguns do the job fine, in most cases a shotgun + melee will either kill or critically injure a BD.
If they abuse the auto lock they waste their super on you, getting 1 kill, maybe two if some idiot charges in...

I definitely didn't miss, I mite still have it on video, I will have to check when I get home. And it we all inside of my freinds bubble shield so it definitely wasn't out of range

Haha you can't shoot through a Defender's shield regardless of which side you're on mate.
