So far I have only used a rare HC and it frustrated the hell out of me in PVP. How much of a difference is it from the legendary/exotic HC's?

The legendaries and exotics usually have much larger clip sizes plus more upgrades that usually improve range (a must have)

Not much since damage is standardized amongst weapons. Legendaries and exotics do carry more and better abilities though
