Has it been confirmed by Bungie that there is a 3rd subclass at launch or is it just the assumption because the space is there?

I believe yes. But no source at moment

i believe their will be a third. Im not positive they have come out and plainly said there is a 3rd class. But there is a spot for it in your inventory.

There is a spot for a Subclass, yes, but we do also know you can lock a Subclass so it's not unreasonable to think it would be for the second copy of one of the existing ones.

I guess the second part of my question is: will it be available at launch? A lot of talk that the game extends with DLC so I wasn't sure if it would instead be added later
