The point is that halo 3 did not come to steam even though it was in the files, and I doubt destiny will either

Big difference here. Bungie isn't a 1st party developer anymore chained down to MS's commands. There is no reason for it not to eventually come to PC seeing as how you have a potential gold mine of gamers on here.

While that is true, I believe they would have announced that a while ago if they wanted to get people hyped

Need to sell consoles somehow and didn't want to give PC a crappy port *cough ubisoft cough* so they're taking their time on it.
