Winners thread will be up later today or early tomorrow.
A wild Destiny art contest appears!
The Topic
Maps, maps, maps! It can be a stunningly detailed map of some section of a planet, a large vista with labels, a mechanical diagram of the solar system in motion, or a combination of all three! I'm not going to be overly picky, if it portrays an area in an informative manner, it's a map. All skill levels are appreciated, Art&Stuff is a very casual art group with all skill levels represented, don't be shy about entering this contest.
Note that any visual medium is allowed, even video.
Deadline
July 9th!
First Place Prize
A $25 shopping spree in the Bungie Store, with swag delivered (piping hot) to your doorstep! (you must live in the US for this prize, otherwise I will send you a gift code for something digital of equivalent value, you can choose this option even if you live in the US)
Second Place Prize
A $10 voucher for most any gaming platform, the winner chooses their platform and I send them the code.
Third Place Prize
A $10 voucher for most any gaming platform, the winner chooses their platform and I send them the code.
Rules (please read these)
Please link your image in a comment on this thread, submissions by private message will be disqualified, it's hard to keep track of who submitted what when I need to go way back into my PM history.
If you used photomanipulation/Base-Layer references, please credit your sources in your submission comment. I cannot stress this enough, I had to disqualify good art in the last contest because the artists neglected to credit non-Bungie sources of Destiny art.
All submissions must be Safe For Work, and not surpass the T for Teen rating. Keep it clean, keep it classy. (and heck, we are drawing maps, you shouldn't run into too many problems lol)
Also, I do not own the work that you submit, I’m not buying it in any way by giving you a prize, it belongs entirely to you and Bungie, not me.
I’m just a host :)
At the start of the year 2777, Earth was dark. The Traveler’s Light was only reaching two places: Bungie City (also known as the “World Domination Headquarters” and home of The Tower in the Emerald City) and a few miles of mountain range and arid steppes in Old Russia around the Cosmodrome. The rest of the planet was in total darkness.
In early June 2777, Project Alpha was an attempt to regain Earth’s control over the Darkness. It was initiated by elite Guardians from the PS-Ψ faction. The PS-Ψ Guardians managed to win a few battles but it wasn’t enough for victory. Alpha was followed by Project Beta in mid-July and the elite Guardians of the X-Ω faction joined in the fight. (Note that the X-Ω faction did not join the prior assault because of technical setbacks, not because of their lack of bravery.)
It was not until the September Launch Campaign that Earth regained the Light. The attack against the forces of Darkness consisted of both elite factions battling alongside millions of Guardians from thousands of Earth Clans. These brave warriors who fought the Darkness with relentless courage and faith are the ones we know today as “The Legendary Rulers of Awesomeness”.
Now a decade later, Earth is safe. “The Legendary Rulers of Awesomeness” are busy protecting us elsewhere in our Solar System (especially on the Moon where those dam wizards keep sprouting…) and discovering new challenges in our Universe. "Per aspera ad astra"
Raining here today, so I had some fun with this :)
