  • Personally I liked The Crucible more then Great Gatsby, although both serve the purpose of explaining points of time in American history.

    Read the Crucible. Not only does it come up as culturally relevant today, but it is also entertaining. I would not read the first... well, the first thing in the poll. I hesitate to call it a novel because I equate it more to a pile of trash not yet set ablaze to be put in its rightful place in a landfill.
