what i know so far: Nvidias are cheaper and have a history of running very hot but performing well unless they go critical and suffer a meltdown, and EVGA makes the best factory spec'd ones.
AMD is Far, far more expensive(their best factory spec'd brand is Sapphire) and i assume they run well and are nice and cool, being that they supposedly started dual fans on cards being controlled by the processor automatically through a proprietary driver.
correct me if i'm wrong... besides fanboying, which one is better/do you think is better?

Switch AMD and Nvidia around.

10 RepliesI went AMD with my last PC build because the CPU/GPU combo was less than half the price of a comparable nvidia/intel combo. You sure AMD is the more expensive brand?

Nvidia hasn't been known for overheating since Fermi. It's AMD who are more associated with hotter temps. Currently it's Nvidia who dominate the high end cards and AMD who are the best for low/medium tier cards. However, each have a sweet line of cards with their own feature so it's difficult to decide who is best.

10 RepliesEdited by Elrond Hubbard: 6/18/2014 5:16:47 AMYou have it backwards. AMD is cheaper, Nvidia is more expensive. It's a tradeoff between price vs. features, essentially. EVGA and Sapphire are both pretty good, can't go wrong with either one. AMD does have Catalyst Control Center for all of its graphics cards, but some graphics cards from both manufacturers tend to include their own (optional) overclocking software that goes beyond the scope of CCC. It's really just up to you. AMD is cheaper, Nvidia has more features.

1 ReplyEdited by That Guy: 6/18/2014 12:31:03 AMI just realized you are trolling. But... Switch AMD with nVidia and nVidia with AMD and it is accurate. I would go with nVidia.

My Nvidia performs well enough.

AMD is Far, far more expensive
very wrong. AMD have the best bang-for-your-buck cards. Nvidia cards are the powerhouse cards, but it'll cost you.

I've only used Nvidia cards so far do I don't have a good opinion on which is better.

I have a Nvidia and it runs great.
