Halo Wars Easter Egg in the Phantom Dust Trailer

Well... This is interesting.
I think it might be a hint for Halo Wars 2. Why? Well, back before E3 2014, the Waypoint Bulletin talked about multiple Halo projects in the works. One was headed by Josh Holmes (Halo 5), and the other was headed by Kiki Wolfkill.
So when E3 2014 came around, I was actually surprised that Kiki Wolfkill's project wasn't announced. We still have another unannounced Halo game.

14 RepliesI dunno what i'd think about a Halo wars 2... Honestly, I enjoyed the first one, but the general population hated it. So releasing a new one just seems strange and I feel like the population would be limited

12 RepliesI liked Halo Wars, and the story, but the multiplayer was bad. REALLY BAD. Not because it is Halo Wars. but because the length it took to get the action coming, it took 5 minutes before even the noobs sent out their weakling grunts or marines, which were, of course destroyed easily with my defence turrets. It would be better for the game to have no multiplayer than it was with sucky multiplayer.

Maybe that studio is helping developing... Or that studio just loves Halo.

I don't know when it would come out. Not 2014, and 2015 seems iffy. It would have to be in the spring, and I think we would know about it by now since E3 has passed. So, if it is real it'll probably not come out till 2016 at the earliest.

I would to see a sequel to the game, in a weird way it was one of the best games my friends and i played a lot. We always made private matches together to fight or to practice with a stronger AI. Multiplayer was ok and it was fun, the campaign was cool.

Not sure how I feel about this... On the one hand, it will probably further progress the Halo story with (hopfully) breath-taking pre-rendered cutscenes on Xbox One. On the other hand, I never got into Wars (I haven't played it in years, mind you.)

It seems like it's too good to be true... Damn. This is probably the one game they could make that would have actually tipped me into shelling out the extra $100 for the Xbox One. I'd like to think we could get it on 360 if the time comes, but I might have to miss out on this one...

Hopefully they can get Blur to make the cinematics again (which is likely, given their work on Halo 2A). Given how intentional Phil Spencer was about mentioning RTS on consoles, hopefully MS is serious about putting a (relatively) deep RTS game on the X1. Heck, perhaps they'll even put a new AoE game on X1 too?

I say Halo Wars 2 gets announced at E3 2015 and comes out 2016 to keep the annual releases going. I would probably play it more than any other new Halo game, considering it sounds like 5 is going to 4 all over again. (My thoughts, i could be very wrong, but I'm skeptical as -blam!-.) I had so many good times in Halo Wars, I fought many epic battles.
