So, I have changed my name from Banned Sparkles to Meta Cognition, although my ID belies my identity.
But, nonetheless, I'm taking this opportunity to apologise to some members for behaviour I feel should be rectified:
- I apologise to a lot of members, particularly ChallengerX and Dave, for being unnecessarily combative during debates.
- I apologise to the entire community for past shitposting and playing Devil's advocate.
- I apologise to Dustin for unnecessarily insulting him.
- I apologise to Higher Ground for being intentionally provocative.
- I apologise to those users I consider friends (Mr Psychologist, Smiggles, Gojira) for occasionally being a burden.
- And, most of all, I apologise to the entire moderation team, particularly Recon, and especially DeeJ for that thread.
Of course, it will transpire that most of you don't care about me or this thread or my intentions and motives; fair enough. For those of you who do actually have an interest, a brief explanation is in the spoiler:
After talking to the college nurse regarding treatment for a very possible case of ASPD, she asked how I spend my time. I told her about the community, and she advised that it might be a good place to begin "rectifying" potentially wrong behaviour. She isn't a mental health professional, so I remain faithless, but I have little to lose by doing so.
For the sake of discussion: how much do you value this community? If this forum was abolished, would it upset you? Would it free up a lot of time?
-
I have changed my name from ak frost to vorticity. Its ok no one here remembers me. And anyone I knew is long gone.
-
Someone direct me to
that
thread

Edited by Jaaake AU: 3/9/2014 2:27:22 PMYou know, I think it would upset me if this forum was abolished. I mean, I've met some really cool people here that I'd otherwise have no knowledge of. And while I can be a bit silly with my posting sometimes, I do enjoy talking to them
-
That's nice man.
-
I value it quite heavily. If it weren't for you guys, I would be bored as all hell on the bus trip to and from school.

Edited by LowIQPlayz3445: 3/5/2014 8:26:44 AMI was wondering why someone that made such... Calm... Posts was on my mute list.
If this forum were abolished I guess I'd have to find somewhere else filled with like minded individuals that I can talk to anonymously and expand my horizons on the world. That and cam's booty threads. I'd need to find those elsewhere too.
-
OK, this is starting to take the internet too seriously. You may want to consider a break and self-evaluation.
-
Way? Your saying sorry? Dude what kind of a troll are you. U don't know you anymore.
-
LOL nice thread.
-
This is a great turning point in your bnet career, friend. I used to post cringe-worthy and pretty idiotic threads on the old forums, and I promised myself to change. Also, this is the only forum I frequent and I dearly enjoy this community almost everyday. If this forum were to ever get nuked for some reason, I don't know what I'd do with my life
-
I don't consider our discussions a burden, I quite enjoy them. I enjoy coming here a lot, I like talking to the people on here and I'm quite comfortable on here. If this place went? I'd be pretty upset/irritated. It wouldn't free up any of my time since I'd just find somewhere vaguely tolerable to lurk and lament the days of B.net. <.<
-
We forgive you *gives hug*
-
I do not accept this apology. Good day.
-
Edited by MoReCoWbELLx2x1: 2/26/2014 5:38:52 PMJust saying, if you announce that you changed your name and everything, is it really a new start? Wouldn't it be better to not bring attention to yourself? From a psychological standpoint.
-
I'd be pretty bored without the Flood here, maybe even bored enough to get involved in WoT's community since that seems to be the game I spend most of my time on lately.
-
- I apologise to those users I consider friends (Mr Psychologist, Smiggles, Gojira) for occasionally being a burden.
whaaa if anything i should be the one apologizing! <3

Edited by challengerX: 2/26/2014 4:38:32 PM
She isn't a mental health professional
Is she hot, though?
Oh, and it's all good.
OT: Yeah, I like this place. Even though everybody (literally everybody, I'm not kidding) treated me like shit the first 2 years I was here, I stayed for some reason I can't really remember. And now I'm used to coming here, and it provides some laughs. And I of course support Bungie so that's another reason. We're a community, and communities need to stick together. Even if the majority of the people here now barely played Halo.
-
This community means a little bit to me. Not much Destiny news out recently. So now I just come on here if I'm board and comment on stuff and what not. I'd mainly be confused if it was taken down.
-
I like it, this place provides me with lols.
-
I would be perturbed if the B.net forums were abolished. I have met a lot of XBL friends on here, and I hope to meet more. Plus, I've had many an interesting conversation on here.
-
Edited by Cobravert: 2/26/2014 3:22:52 PMGood luck with your efforts. No, seriously I hope it works out for you and I hope you put effort into trying. Change doesn't happen because you want it to. It takes a lot of perseverance.
For the sake of discussion: how much do you value this community? If this forum was abolished, would it upset you? Would it free up a lot of time?
The Community, or a private group here rather are what have kept me here so long. Had I not had that, I would have been gone at Reach for I hated that game, and there would have been no more reason for me to come here. If the 'offtopic' forum were gone, it wouldn't be that big of deal to me. I cruise this site as 'All Topics' anyhow. Too much of offtopic is garbage and stupidity upon stupidity for me. If B.net in general were gone, yeah it would free up all of my 'down' time when skimming this site when my work is a little slow.

Edited by Leeroy Jenkins: 2/26/2014 4:44:46 AMI agree with all your statements, I am also very happy to see you rectifying your wrongs. It shows good character and you continue to surprise me. Although I find Higher Ground to be a twat, but there are reasons for such feelings. I personally value the flood very highly, it has helped me get through some very difficult times, when I've given up on my friends I can always turn to the guys here to distract me and make me feel better. Sure sone of you guys bicker to no end but a good deal of you guys are awesome. Also I think I would go through social withdrawal without this place, it's a major outlet to socialize when I can't meet people face to in real life.
Can I still call you Gentlemen Marx? Although you may no longer be a Marxist so sorry in advance...
Edited by Ban Evasion Dave: 2/26/2014 12:31:07 PM
- I apologise to a lot of members, particularly ChallengerX and Dave, for being unnecessarily combative during debates.
It's cool, I don't actually care about internet fights that much.
-
- I apologise to Dustin for unnecessarily insulting him.
For the record, I have never felt a real world emotion due to what anyone has ever said over the Internet.
-
It's a simple time killer. I don't know what I would do if it were to be removed.
