It's official, I'm getting my 3DS this Friday, woo!
So what games do you guys and gals recommend?

Pokemon X or Y Fire Emblem: Awakening Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Shin Megami Tensei IV You also have a plethora of old DS titles to choose from, which are cheaper and just as good. The Castlevania DS games are decent, as are the Final Fantasy re-releases, and Chrono Trigger. Enjoy! Best console release this gen in my humble opinion.
