Most self-described 'introverts' are just socially awkward kids who wish they could be that extroverted guy at a party; I used to be one myself. One of my good mates is a true introvert and he can socialise, it's just that he likes his own space. If we hang out we just smoke a joint and chill, could never get him to come clubbing or whatever.
But don't make excuses for your anti-sociality by chalking it down to introversion. The moment you start doing that is the moment you stop trying, and you'll wake up one day as a middle aged man all alone realising that you're not some brooding mystery the world would love to puzzle out, you're just a lonely aging guy who has few friends and no real relationships.
Just my two cents.
