I was having a random conversation with someone the other day and the topic of coffee came up. When I asked where they had their favorite cup of coffee they said Starbucks, which isn't entirely surprising but that's sort of what agitates me. Have people truly been denying themselves a cup of coffee better than what you'd find at Starbucks (at least in America)?
I'm a bit of a coffee stickler myself, and I understand that everyone is not going to be as particular about their coffee as I am. Just to give you an idea, I get my own whole coffee beans from MistoBox, grind them, and brew each cup individually using the pour-over method.
To be fair, I don't (and can't) do this all the time but when I do, the difference in taste from your usual consumer based cup is worlds far and between each other and it's distressing, as a coffee lover myself, that most people don't seem to know or care what they're missing. Everyone I know who I've made my coffee for all agree that it's very different from anything they've had before. Not all of them preferred it, it's a bit of an acquired taste if you're used to that roasted flavor most pre-packaged consumer coffee has (and you take your coffee with milk and sugar) but, I'm happy to have opened their eyes to another world of coffee.
So my question here to you is "what's in your cup coffee?" Where do you buy your coffee, how do you make it if you are at home, do you use a Keurig, do you actually like Starbucks and do you have a preferred coffee house, coffee bean etc.? Everyone likes their coffee differently, and I'm not bashing any particular way to brew a cup o' joe, or Starbucks for that matter (I actually have a Gold Starbucks card myself), I guess I'm really just curious about contemporary coffee culture and how everyone, here on the #Offtopic forums at least, enjoy their own cup of coffee.
