The Terran Viking is a mech that can operate on the ground and switch to an air-superiority fighter whenever needed. Obviously this is from a game, but I'm curious if that type of technology is possible in the real world.

	That doesn't look very aerodynamic. You'd really have to redesign the wings on that thing to make it practical. Also the weight distribution seems off. If you redesign some things, I guess it could be done. It don't be easy and it probably wouldn't work that well as a mech or aircraft, but you need some trade offs.

	1 ReplyTo get into the air would require a lot of thrust. Being a ground mech it's gonna need to take some punishment, so heavy armor would weigh it down. Then while in the air to transform into a plane would need some balance, can't have it falling over in mid transformation because of moving parts. Maybe, but not anytime soon.
