So Bungee are wanting to rent their own office space to OTHER companies to use.
So you could say that the deal with Sony now boils down to...
Sold their soul now their metaphoric body.

2 RepliesEdited by Yash: 9/9/2026 11:00:48 PMTo clarify, the space isn't owned by them, and they are looking at subleasing it. Bungie had it leased from whoever owns that building downtown Bellevue, with a very long 10+ year lease. Commercial Real-estate is a funny business. It is very common for a tenant to spend millions to renovate a space they don't even own while holding a long term lease. So the Sony finance people who are writing the check to the landlord each month, probably did some math and figured out the numbers would work better if they sublease the mostly empty fancy space and get some cash from it than to just get out of the lease (if getting out is an option).

Edited by viiTactiiCZz: 9/9/2026 10:19:59 PMThey overexpanded, what did people think was going to happen after everything? with the cancelled projects, failed send on Marathon, other projects moved to Sony like Gummy Bears - they weren't going to fully utilize a studio that was ~2-2.5x times the size they were using already so the options were either subleasing or moving.
