Unable to play on Linux/Refund

I understand that because of the anti-cheat they use (BattlEye) the game isn't supported on Linux. I also know that there BattlEye natively supports Linux, but it's an opt-in feature. Looking it up myself on how to activate BattlEye on Linux, it really is just a few lines of code, if even that. SO WHY NOT ON LINUX?! There I was, freshly installed CachyOS. Downloading all my favorite games to play tomorrow. Hell I've heard that there was a sale for EVERY expansion on Destiny 2, immediately bought that so I can play it when it finishes downloading.... hmm, why did it only briefly flash the start screen? Maybe wrong proton or wine version? That's when I found out about BattlEye. If it's to prevent cheating, it wasn't working back when I was on windows. Saw at least a cheater every 2-3 PvP matches. And if Bungie has time for someone to make an announcement, then they have time to switch BattlEye: Linux support on! I went to refund both destiny 2 and the dlcs because I LITERALLY could not play it! I love the game, especially the gunplay, but they aren't getting my money if I, again, literally could not play it.

  • 1. The anti-cheat isn’t the only reason it’s not on linux. 2. It may just be a few lines of code and/or button presses to activate battleye on linux, but there’s a helluva lot more that bungie would have to do. 3. Do you not read the system reqs before buying something on pc?

    • Hello there,  All refund requests would need to go through the retailer that sold you the game and would be subject to their refund policies. The Windows os is listed as a requirement and no plans have been announced to change that have been made.
