The requirement to do an Expert Conquest in order to progress your Guardian Rank is extremely unintuitive and funnels new players toward content that does not have automatic matchmaking but also does not tell them that the content basically isn't clearable solo (Fireteam 1-3). It's a time-waster and it's bad design.
Similarly, the main Renegades questline confusingly tells you to go into Equilibrium dungeon after the first or second mission. While the main campaign icon does stay on Tharsis Outpost, my quest tracker moved to Equilibrium. Maybe I picked up a new quest for the Dungeon? Either way, I assumed that was where I was supposed to go for some reason and wasted even more of my time trying to do that dungeon assuming it was easy campaign slop. It's still the only quest in the Renegades section of my quest tab. Maybe current campaigns don't count as quests in this game even though all the legacy campaigns are quests? The mind boggles.
I've tried to play this game twice previously and quit both times due to unintuitive bs. This time is starting to feel no different. I just wanna play the game, not have my time wasted because I don't have a doctorate in UI design.

1 ReplyStick with it. Everyone goes through it... What until you do the Kovostov quest on the Pale Heart.

I'm pretty sure you grabbed a quest for the dungeon because I never got a marker for it, and I've completed the whole campaign. As for the expert conquest, it is doable solo. I did it during EoF, but man, it was a slog, but doable.

No, they made the conquests a requirement so that not everyone is guardian rank 11 after a week of playing.
