New to PC. Noticing random episodes of horrible fps.
I recently built my first gaming PC and haven't had trouble with any other games. But with the recent news, I thought I'd try playing through Steam instead of strictly PS5. I shouldn't have any hardware limitations with a 99550x and a 9970xt, but I will have these random occurrences of horrible frame rate. I've only been able to get out of it a couple of times by increasing or decreasing the frame cap in game by one or two, then putting it back where it was. Other times it will just continue for a while, maybe ten minutes or so, until it feels like stopping or until I restart the game. It will usually happen at least once within an hour. Is there anything in particular that I should be looking for? I'm not using any kind of active overlay so I'm not exactly sure what the frame rate is dropping to, but it's unplayable and almost headache inducing. Any guidance would be appreciated.

A few things we'd recommend trying first, if you haven't already, are to ensure that all drivers (especially your GPU drivers), Windows, and your BIOS are all up to date. Can you also clarify if you notice the same issue while you're offline on Steam Chat? If you continue to have issues in the game, we'd next recommend trying to verify the game file integrity through Steam, if you haven't already. We'd also recommend closing all non-essential software that may be running in the background to see if it helps. If all else fails, we'd lastly recommend trying to uninstall and reinstall the game.
