I have had my account and played destiny one and destiny 2 in purchased all the expansions and have done thousands upon thousands of hours into this game since July 2014. Yesterday was the most morally depressing and crushing day of my life when I tried to get on to play a little bit of destiny 2 after work only to find that my name had been changed from Podman46#1066 to Emi#4313 I was then Even more concerned as I noticed all my emblems were changed to the same emblem and my characters didn't look right only to log in and see that so much of my hard-earned irreplaceable gear had been deleted.
When I logged into my Bungie account I saw that the hacker attached their epic games account via crossplay D2LOCKEDIN53 and I have no means of removing it. I have contacted epic games and explained to them what happened and provided evidence showing purchases and email correspondence with Bungie through the years identifying me as Podman46 trying to see if I could get them to ban or delete the account but they said they're unable to do anything to the account without contacting and being directed to by that accounts holder which is the whole problem in that it's the account of the hacker. Same thing with Bungie in the FAQs they say that you can only remove an account from that account how are you supposed to do that if it's not your account that attached itself to you. I never received an email or anything to give permission for that account to link into my bungie account.
I've spent thousands of dollars on this game so many thousands of hours that I will never get back of playing If I can't get anything done to recover this account I will be filing a complaint with the better Business bureau I'll probably try to reach out to steam about all the money that was spent on now unusable purchases because anything I do in this game is now able to just be deleted an altered without any control of me.
I have never seen such a horrible security system for an online product in my life. I was actually looking forward to playing guardian games this week even through all of the player downturn I have been a steady loyal player of this game I was happy just doing my grind on it till the update comes in June. But if that loyalty is rejected for a filthy hacker not only will I never touch a Bungie product again I will completely nuke and delete the account so that the -blam!- that stole it can't enjoy or make use of the hard work I have put into it to sell off so that somebody can use it to cheat in trials probably. And I will probably be done with gaming entirely because in a world where they're forcing everything to be digital and hackers and identity theft is so common and prevalent today You can't have such utter disregard for your consumers protection. It's not like I've lost a $40 game I lost thousands of dollars because of all of the expansions and everything over 11 years being purchased at full price.
I can show you any evidence you want to prove that I am the original owner of this account I can show you emails dates of purchases actually buying physical merchandise from you all showing my name in all those old emails and receipts It's not like I can't give you any evidence to prove that this is illegitimate I got receipts for days here.

5 RepliesUnfortunately, as of March 25th of last year. We can no longer unlink accounts. Bungie will NOT forcefully remove an account for you. Account security is our responsibility.
