Light level cap
Hi,
My Destiny 2 account appears to be stuck at Power 300.
- All characters are at Power 300
- All gear drops (including Nightfalls, vendors, and engrams) are capped at 300
- No items drop above 300 under any circumstances
- I am playing in the current season (Season 22)
I have tried:
- Nightfalls and campaign missions
- Decrypting engrams
- Buying vendor gear
- Pulling items from Collections
- Using multiple characters
Nothing increases Power.
This seems like my account did not receive the global Power floor update.
Please can this be investigated or reset?

Everything outside of the portal is capped at 300 power. You need to do content that is in the portal menus to go beyond 300.

Edited by EckyThump: 3/24/2026 7:29:41 PMHey there, just to add to the answer already given. When Edge of Fate launched in July 2025 (Season 27), it introduced a major power overhaul. The Power boundaries were changed from 1900-2010, to 10-550, in addition all players were brought down to Power 10. There has been no global power floor update since then - anything you may read about Power levels above 550 (the current absolute gear hardcap) is outdated info, from before Edge of Fate launched. As such, as the current power boundaries are 10-550, a Power of 300 is well into the 'powerful tier', the level where normal loot (ie the things you listed) stops contributing towards a power gain. ZacTheRuler has already mentioned how progression works here and now, you need to do Portal activities that award bonus drops.
