Error 1618 When Enabling SMS Verification – Multiple Numbers Tried
I am receiving error 1618 when attempting to enable SMS verification.
The error states: “An unexpected error has occurred on Bungie’s servers while trying to grab Destiny information (1618).”
Troubleshooting already attempted:
- Multiple phone numbers tried (different carriers)
- Different browsers and incognito mode
- Steam and PlayStation accounts linked
- Cross Save configured
- Logged into Destiny 2 recently
- Waited over 24 hours before retrying
The error persists regardless of phone number used.
It appears the system is failing during Destiny profile lookup before SMS validation occurs.
Requesting assistance or account review, as SMS verification is required for raid access and certain rewards.
