Trials needs to be connection-based matchmaking

SBMM forces a 50% win rate. How can someone get 7 wins in a row if this is forced? Who's the braindead dev who enabled this?

  • I have no problem with SBMM in trials… My thing is… why then… should a .7kd player play other .7kds for the same exact rewards the 2.0 players are playing for? For a tournament that is supposed to be for the best… the best sure don’t get rewarded like such…

    • If it makes you feel better, I got 7 in a row, then proceeded to pull one gun out of the chest, along with a couple pieces of armor. You get far more just playing the matches themselves, which likely contributes to your teammates not giving a damn and throwing 😂. Sadly, the team that brought us Halo is now long gone.

More casual players like me refuse to play exactly due to comments like this. So you're forced to play with yourselves. And look at all the complaining lol You'll say to players like me to "get gud" while simultaneously wanting an easy ride for yourselves lol End trials and end the entitled attitudes.

        • It’s terrible! Absolutely disgraceful lobby balancing! It’s the most unfun it’s ever been! Played for 5 hours only got a 4win streak then boom two 0.6kd teammates who have never been flawless and want the match to be over soon as possible by running at the enemy and dieing in seconds. Leaving you to get 3v1d and tbagged.it feels so rigged.

        • Dude, the closest I got to by sheer luck and losing all day, was 5 wins. Only to start losing again all day (Imagine being bad at the game, and then by some miracle, if you are not carrying, you're the backpack). It just feels so terrible man. No sweat should have to carry my sorry -blam!- if I play like dogshit

          • It normally is cbmm bungo just messed up by activating lobby balancing. I think there's going to be a patch this month to revert it

          • Solo queues is the way I play trials, been doing this since the days of confidence cards. The first week I was lucky to hit a true 7 win flawless after hours of grind, second weekend I hit 6, this weekend 5 was the best. Only reason why I played the last two weekends was to see if the shader finally dropped, still bugged and was a waste of time. Just need the shader and new ghost and my trials days are done since I have everything else worth farming. MM has been very tough and have encountered a lot of severe connection problems, teams would have players just get kicked mid match, or players quit mid game.

          • I must say that Trials is in the best state, ever. I play Trials on regular basis for years and the hit detection is much better, then ever. Also, the matches are synchronised bettter, then ever. Still not perfect, but better then ever before. Trials needs dedicated servers btw. Also, players with VPN should only face each other.

          • There is no SBMM in Trials though? Their lobby balancing has “accidentally” turned on though which is making the experience no good right now. Just hold off on trials until it’s disabled again.

            • Its not about flawless anymore “Bungie has always stayed that they are against the trials system, they are against ppl being better then others. In there identity politics its not fair. So trials is not build on going flawless its build on getting thier 5 rewards, that’s why we switch to this system even win when you lose

            • Pretty much SBMM on trials or 3 vs 3 match like comp. Problem is you are fighting more tougher players cuz other players play other games and bungie lost 70% players base of it (players don’t like new systems changes) ….. you probably on 30% with tough or hardcore players on pvp. It nothing we can do about it. Same way, lost balance on 6 vs 6 mode as well, some players quit middle match when enemy players overwhelmed them. That why bungie is not focus on pvp anymore but just PvE only.
