Not much of an explanation is needed if you play this game, but I’ll give my own personal opinion.
I’ve been playing D2 since Y1 and I honestly can say a brand new game is needed.
Tier 5s WAS a good idea but executed horribly, when I found out that being a higher power level means you get better weapon/armor tiers I knew this system was -blam!-.
What do you mean you don’t have the play difficult content to get Tier 5s? What do you mean you could play one match in Trials and lose and still get Tier 5s?
I’m convinced whoever suggested this was trolling, Tier 5s should ONLY be obtainable from completing the most difficult content in the game.
Moving onto abilities the uptime and how broken they are abilities need to be tuned HEAVILY.
Difficult content isn’t really difficult, enemies are just bullet sponges and shooting them with a weapon feels terrible but using an ability solves the problem.
Get what I’m saying? Abilities are so broken that enemies are becoming even more of a bullet sponge to counteract with it but then using weapons is basically useless specially primaries.
I’ll always say Destiny as a whole should always be 70% gunplay and 30% abilities.

This new tier system for both weapons and armor is just dumb. It in one fell swop just removed both Adepts and Artifice. Both of which that were gained from the more difficult activities. It felt like a reward, nothing amazing, but good. Artifice and Adept weapons was a big reason to do both Master Raids and Dungeons. Getting 25 plus to your armor stats, and having weapons that you can increase one of its stats by 10 points or increasing your damage to both Majors and bosses by 10%. It was something to go after and could give you a bit of a help. Now tier 5's are just handed out like candy on Halloween. Turning in a cookie gives you a tier 5, completing a renegade run can give you up to 7 tier 5's. Seriously what is the point of them anymore ? What is the point of doing Master raids or Epic. When you can get the exact same reward from a Strike ? The only thing that makes them different is the armor bonus. Although most of them are terrible or gives such a small bonus that it just isn't worth it. Not to mention how some are time limited. Bungie has always sucked on executions. Like i don't mind that more things are of a higher level, but how you get them is the issue.
