STOP CREATING TIME-GATED MISSIONS
The subject is the post. Time-gated missions are the most RIDICULOUSLY stupid thing ever created in any game. Did you people learn nothing from the Whisper of the Worm bulls*** that EVERYONE F***ING HATED?
ENOUGH. There's NO good reason for it. None. And the BAD reasons are SO BAD that you'd think even considering them would be punishable by actual jail time. But here we are.

8 RepliesThere is good reasons for it. It makes the activity harder to complete. A challenge is always good. And no, its not "artificial difficulty" Games have always been like that. (And anyways, no matter what bungie does, people will say its artificial difficulty)

Time gated or timed? Whisper isnt time gated & to my knowledge outside of the gmnf rotation nothing is time gated

3 RepliesEveryone loved whisper and the timer was absolutely brutal in vanilla d2. But that was the fun part, it was hard. I think the new exotic mission Fire and Ice did it pretty nice with only the catalyst version being on timer for weaker players. If it wasn't for the many bugs it would've been fun. P.s. timed != time gate

I will Reiterate my point as it still applies, timed missions are fine if done occasionally and correctly. Bungie uses it as a crutch to create artificial difficulty in many cases, same with revives. That said, Whisper is still a beloved part of D1.

1 ReplyThat’s how bungie makes less content seem like more. What normally can be completed in several days takes months due to their time gating tactics. Also it’s a part of their under delivery mindset.

4 RepliesWhisper of the worm is widely considered one of the best exotic missions. The secret, learning the mechanic and the fact it utilized a patrol area. Probably the best exotic mission.

Nah, nightfalls were at their best when they were timed. What feels better, taking an hour to beat a mission because you're hiding at the back of the map chipping away at enemies with a scout rifle or beating a mission within the 15 minute time limit because you learnt from your mistakes and optimised your loadout?

I don’t remember you/others getting my opinion of the timer/mission? In fact, i like timers. Makes me strive to be a better player and get better build.
