Not so long ago, you had Ada's weapon mods in game for one week. Players got to use those mods for maybe 3 days after the pre-requisite challenges were completed. Of course, hardly anyone bothered. Now, you've put weapon mods behind legendary weapon orders with a drop-rate that makes end-game exotics look common! I've done over 50 weapon orders and I have 2 mods. TWO! I just don't understand why you build something and then make it next to impossible to get. It makes no sense.
UPDATE: doing orders alone won't cut it. You need to do fireteam based activities to get gains on the legendary bar (below the list of orders). I can also confirm, doing higher tier difficulty encounters does not appear to add more gains to the bar than Quick Play Vanguard Ops.
BOTTOM LINE: getting the armor mods is a grind AND subject to the mercy of RNG gods. New low Bungie.

1 ReplyEdited by Toots238857: 12/25/2025 6:37:53 AMThey had to move the goal post again, to keep us grinding. That is the ONLY reason why they changed this. They're running out of ideas to keep us playing. "Getting armor moda is a grind". You said it exactly like it was intended to be. I literally said "F-dem" mods this season!

6 RepliesThere's only 3 and one is about bunk anyhow...I think the one that is anti barrier and adds a little burst dmg is as good as it gets. The other two, even the one for unstoppable are meh imo. Guess it matters on what two you got 😀👍

Because you are a hamster and you are meant to run the wheel.
-
5 RepliesThe point is this… to get players to grind… bungie wants you doing the same thing over and over for hours on end
-
20 RepliesPretty sure you get guaranteed legendary orders after a certain amount of commons and then you can just reroll the legendary one until its a weapon specific order which gives you a mod. I dunno what the problem is honestly since I already got them all pretty quickly but maybe I'm just lucky.
-
50 orders worth of time squeezed from you just for two mods out of how many? Working as intended
-
2 RepliesHow many are there total? I've gotten 3 of them.
-
The whole orders system is garbage, yet another way bungie forces bs limitations on the way you play their game.
-
I have 4 enhanced weapon mods and I think they have all dropped from occasionally remembering to focus on the orders while going through vanguard alerts playlists. Achieving those orders makes the playlists better. I have: --Kill Shot, Stay in the fight, Calm amidst chaos, Overpressured munitions Haven't used them ever, so not sure if its 1 time, PVP-able, score reducing... gonna try to remember to test it.. Goodluck

I agree 100%, this was one of the many dumb things Bungie did to try and stretch it out thinking that for whatever reason will retain players. I've lost count of how many I have rerolled, how many times I had to go farm glimmer to reroll again cause the price is ridiculious, just to get nothing but the same drops I've gotten the past 20 times. Mod should NOT be locked behind this TERRIBLE .001% chance. Bungie STOP making the same mistakes you have been making that is the reason why there is such a LOW player base now... SMH

2 RepliesThey should have just stuck to how they were doing these mods in Reclamation where it was a random drop from doing Portal activities.
-
I only have gotten… 1 mod thus far 😂😂😂
-
Oh don't worry, the week-long Ada ones are returning early 2026, for bows.

Edited by Dooodley: 12/23/2025 1:02:11 PMI feel like that's one of the few systems that has been pretty straightforward. I got the mission, checked that it had a mod as reward, completed it and pretty much got a mod every time. I feel like the mods are kind of lackluster compared to what we had last season though.
-
loving that all players are not even searching the right orders lol
-
I have honestly forgotten all about those mods because I never get them, but also I don't pay attention to orders so might be my own fault. It's not like last season where it felt like they were just handed out and I was able to use all of them early, as opposed to now where I have one after many hours this season, I'll just keep ignoring them at this rate so I feel ya.
-
I have one. I didn't even know there were any to be honest. Haven't seen anything on getting mods or anything like that in the game anywhere

1 ReplyI also really hate this system. It’s based on RNG and not on actual “Do X and be rewarded with Y” I have also done about 40 legendary chests (yes with the mod chance drop) and had NONE drop for me. Bungie really needs to just make them guaranteed or make someone sell them. Because at this rate I don’t think I will get ANY of them during renegades.
-
I’ve got one mod, and that appears to be pretty much useless, I wouldn’t bother trying to get them, which is typical of how this game has gone
-
I’ve received four.
-
I'm so sick of them adding RNG to EVERY SINGLE THING in this game. Some RNG is fine, but this is ridiculous.
-
Lets face it, they're trying to phase out weapons altogether. More that one report has stated that primary weapons are pretty much useless at the moment, and space magic is becoming the new meta. Not a good move in my opinion, as Destiny (well, the OLD Destiny) was always highly praised for its gunplay.
-
i didn't even know that this was a thing. it's pretty repulsive tbh, really makes me want to play less out of spite.
-
They should’ve just used the ones from solstice event, easy to get -i think.

The rarity would not be so bad if you could keep the mods or be able to use the mods on all guns...like the old gun mods back with you had to unlock them from banshee... Having and using a mod for a week feels like a waste of time... But it can be also assumed that the temp mods are closely monitored to bata test... new mods and interactions are probably prototypes for the more permanent ones later...
