this is such a new low.
in fact, we the players dont talk enough how bad's been along the years the fewer ways to get bright dust since forsaken. i know you want us to pay with silver but damn -blam!- is ugly.
the pvp with snowball is cool tho

Used to farm bounties every Dawning to restock up on all the Bright Dust that I had spent over the year so that I would have enough to break even until the next Dawning. I stopped logging in for the Bright Dust shop in August, which was basically all I was doing at that point. I just needed one more week to finish buying the last piece of armor for the Stasis universal set. Then I realized that if I wasn't going to play any more, it was pointless to come back each week for the Bright Dust, so I never picked up that final piece of the set, and I guess I never will. Bungie is clearly desperate but the tighter they try to hold on, the more of us they lose. It's obvious they have very little will or ability to change their ways.

1 ReplyI didn’t realize bright dust was such a big deal to ppl, I get it if you’re new and don’t have much but veterans should be swimming in the stuff. I have way more then I’ll ever use in this games lifetime, maybe it’s just me, but to be fair I pretty much just use it to get shaders, I really don’t find the armour appealing most of the time, my characters have pretty much looked the same for yrs lol
-
1 ReplyDude I've now got bright dust to actually spend on stuff I normally wouldn't cause they moved it to orders and now I get it at a reasonable rate stop crying pay attention now all you have to do is play instead of going to tower or app every 5min
-
7 RepliesThe funny thing is it feels like you get more now. I ran the dungeon a couple of times last night and I was completing orders without even giving them a thought and the amount of +10 bright dust drops I got was a lot just for cashing them in. It feels more passive now opposed to something you’re intentionally farming for which I personally don’t mind.
-
3 RepliesEvery order you complete, you get bright dust, why are you complaining?
-
I have mentioned it every time it got decreased. I believe that the biggest was when they removed the path finder system. It gave a consistent amount so that you basically had infinite bright dust. 2 weeks ago i went down to 11 bright dust. Never been that low since i started the game.

3 RepliesEdited by Roach: 12/17/2025 6:07:06 AMBungie are like a drowning man throwing back life jackets. Do they seriously think this approach is going to make the few players they have left buy Marathon, or the next expansion for Destiny 2 ??, they double down on every bone move. They are beyond help. They can't help getting in their own way. You only get Dawning Essence from the portal now. None from Public Events.
-
Do not spend money at Eververse.
-
destiny players are like: "well, i got 100k bright dust, i dont get the complain" this is not about you, this is about the game "bro, we got from completing orders" but they are capped for week and for season, and the cap is lower the what we got in the past ffs
-
Yes they are desperate and clueless. What a terrible combination.

The dawning is all about the cookies and bright dust I can recharge my bank account...I look forward to it every year... But this is disappointing... ya I'm getting guns but I miss wandering around hunting resources for the specific cookies and getting my pile of dust for the holiday...

Oh no! Our free currency to buy premium cosmetics is no longer easily farmable anymore. How could I ever live without constantly having more than 20,000 bright dust per season. But for real, if you just play nearly every week for a decent duration, you will come out with a hefty amount of Bright Dust by just playing and doing your various dailies, weeklies, and orders. I get not having the Bright Dust bounties in Eva anymore is a bit disappointing, but it doesn't make or break anything really. Let us just be glad that our dungeon was apart of an expansion and not required to be purchased separately anymore lol.
Small edit: I am not swimming in Bright Dust, I spend it almost every week and still earn enough each week to buy me every new event/armor set that comes out, or a shader/ornament I really want.
-

Who knew, Bungie was secretly the grinch!
-
1 ReplyThey’re basically just passive now. You get roughly the same amount from completing a vanguard thingy
-
1 ReplyThere’s so many sources of bright dust now, I don’t think you need the bounties.🤷♀️
-
I’m getting 450 from bounties and 1000 from the Rewards Pass. Saved up 18,000 to spend it all in one day and now I’m broke. If anything, I’d argue that the price of certain cosmetic ornament sets are too high.

5 RepliesFunny how they also toss in an extra weapon options from zavala for bright dust. Almost accidentally bought one, which is what they're counting on I'm sure. I'm at the lowest I've been in a long time. "Working as intended" -bungie
-
1 ReplyAs the old saying goes, if you want bungie to listen to the playerbase talk with your wallets.
-
I have over 100k .. I didn't even know it had value.. I also don't use eververse. But dang
-
1 ReplyThey don't care.... The dummies will buy silver and the rest WON'T play the event. Time you guys wake up and stop complaining to a brick wall.
-
1 ReplyBecause Bungo have made the game only about making money, not having fun. If they made eververse a hell of a lot cheaper we would spend more but some of them at like $30 is like buying a full game. If we could buy sets at 5 or 10 Dollars I bet we would spend a lot more.
-
We could see this coming 6 years ago when the tribute hall let us buy the trophies for bright dust, then they removed bright dust from bright engrams. We had tens of thousands of bright dust, we had a bright dust surplus so we could go shopping with our earned currency.... then they slowly reduced how we could obtain it and the prices went up. Fast forward to today, fewer ways to obtain bright dust and more goodies to buy. Just like the local dealer giving free samples to get you hooked and jack the prices once the addiction kicks in.

Edited by COMBATICUS: 12/17/2025 8:04:35 PMBungie doesn't have events for the players anymore. It feels more like a celebration for themselves so you can throw money at silver and cosmetics. When theres players, streamers, and youtubers using silver and not caring, some of those things should be rewards in the game. You think bungie will listen or change?any video I come across, they always look at the store, ohh new event, new shiney things, they automatically purchase it without question. So unless theres a big number of players that will voice their opinion, nothing will ever happen or change. So what im saying, you're getting upset at something that would never change. Personally, I've had 3000 silver since shadow keep i believe. it was like a bundle i bought that came with those free silver. I have yet to even spend 1 silver, lol
-
1 ReplyNot to mention I see no issue how it was at first because we were already at a disadvantage because their bright engram is a shadow of their former selves due to having a ridiculous amount of duplicates. If they wanna go this route bring back knock off list we had previously

Edited by Meat Fountain: 12/16/2025 10:46:15 PMI was basically holding on specifically for this event but now there's no reason left to engage. It's just such a braindead decision.
