I would have said this years Dawning might be the best one yet seeing the legacy eververse engrams and the new PvP mode but it turns out you took away the bright dust bounties which was the best part of the dawning which also was the only reason I was even grinding the dawning the last couple years. and also sadly I only saw 2 of those engrams in the event pass(so unless they can drop randomly) if you would allow us to grind for these engrams even if it’s with a cap like 30 engrams or so kinda like during the rite of the nine that would be amazing. Or let us exchange the event currency for these engrams(even though it’s nice the weapons from there can now drop in tier 5, good job on that).
But still please maybe bring the bounties back with a hotfix or something because it’s shocking to me y’all would even remove what made dawning worth playing in the first place

To force you to buy the ornament in real money since you can’t earn enough bright dust in time. Working as intended.

6 RepliesLet me get this right: to you, the best part of the dawning was grinding dawning bounties for the small amount of bright dust? Lmao I swear, yall make up random and outrageous things just to complain and bash bungie. We are getting more bright dust by doing less right now, but since you cant grind bounties, you're upset? Lmao I just can't with yall.

3 RepliesHow do people not have a ton of bright dust? I’ve literally never gone below 50k

8 RepliesI think Bungie intended the Orders system to be a game-wide replacement for Bounties and other Bright Dust sources. Taking into account the Weekly Objectives, the Weekly Rewards, and the 1000 Bright Dust limit on Common and Legendary Orders, that's 1,800 Bright Dust per week. The problem, as always, has been execution. Each different game director just can't seem to keep around what their predecessors put into the game. We had Crafting, and it was a good system, and it would have been great if it had been combined with Tiering, if our old Enhanceable weapons and Craftable weapons could gain the benefits of Enhanced Barrel and Magazine perks, and Enhanced Origins traits. Instead, Tiered loot and the chase for it replaced Crafting and Enhanceable weapons entirely. That is the biggest problem with the Portal. Instead of supplementing and working alongside the rest of the game, Tyson Green attempted to have the Portal replace the rest of the game. No more Pinnacle or Powerful Drops from the old Vanguard Ops, Crucible, and Gambit; no more featured Dungeons and Raids with Pinnacle drops. Nothing from the World could contribute to the new power climb; only the Portal had Powerful Drops. They even greyed out the World Map where everything pre-Edge of Fate existed, for goodness' sake. Even the Orders came with the cost of removing the Bounties from all non-Expansion locations. As far as losing the farmable Bright Dust bounties from the Dawning, it is likely the same deal. Someone thought that there was no point in keeping the Bright Dust bounties around with the new Orders system, even though the Orders are capped at 1000 Bright Dust per week when there's no cap to Dawning bounties. The worst possibility is that it is an attempt to drive people to buy Silver for Eververse by removing repeatable Bright Dust bounties that players could use to stockpile Bright Dust for much of the coming year, especially with how many Ornaments they are pushing into it lately. For me, it just means I will not be buying the Dawning Armor set with Bright Dust with this, since my sights are set on the Taken Armor, and hopefully Jade Filament in the future. Taking away sources of Bright Dust won't incentivize people to spend Silver on Ornaments they really want.

1 ReplyBecause -blam!- you, that's why

Because all people did was cry about having bounties to do. Now we dont have them. Thank those clownshoes.

2 RepliesThe regression of the Bright Dust system has been really sad to see. To think that we went from 3,600 weekly in the Forsaken days to what we have today with Orders, is wild to say the least. I know that people have done the math, and technically we get more Bright Dust today that pre Edge of Fate, but the trade off of losing the Weekly Challenges (which you could basically do at any time) is not it. Every time we get a new XP or Bright Dust system, it feels like there's always a Monkey's Paw attached to it. We are never getting a straight up upgrade from what came before, and after seeing iteration after iteration for like 8 years or so, it's getting a bit tiring.

Who would’ve guessed when Bungie said “orders replace all bounties” that meant ALL bounties including bounties from limited time events. Gee golly, ain’t that pickle.

They could have added some new special character emblems. That was my reason for doing the last one.
