Tempest strike does way to much damage in pvp

To deal that much damage and have high uptime while causing jolt and traveling through walls is a crutch. It needs a nerf bad.

  • The issue here is whether Arcstrider really needs another nerf. You can delete the subclass from PvP if you go too far with tuning. I’m an Arcstrider main in PvP, and yes, the melee is currently broken — but if you nerf it too much, the entire subclass falls apart. Arcstrider has no standout grenades, no top-tier supers compared to other subclasses, and it has been hit by wave after wave of nerfs over the years. We used to be able to block things like Thundercrash, Nova Bomb, or send back supers like Silence & Squall as long as we were airborne and blocking. None of that works anymore, which leaves Arcstrider in a weird balance position. Bungie wanted it to feel like a close-range Shaolin monk, but they nerfed everything that helped you get into close range. Here’s what Arcstrider has lost over time: • Dodge damage resistance dropped from 50% → 10% (aspect) • General damage resistance from 25% → 10% (fragment) • Pre-Knockout melee range after dodge is inconsistent and whiffs more than ever (aspect) • Blocking used to counter high-tier supers, but now the super basically requires an exotic to function defensively • Ability regeneration from fragments is now tied to stat distribution, reducing uptime • Sprint speed bonus — originally unique to Arcstrider — was removed when Prismatic was introduced • Arcbolt grenade was a strong cleanup tool, but it received a hidden nerf and no longer tags unless the target’s feet are on the ground So yes, Arcstrider melee is busted right now. But it’s busted because the entire ability-spam sandbox is out of control, not because the subclass itself is overtuned. Arcstrider has effectively become “the melee subclass,” and that’s a problem when every close-range engagement in the 5–18 meter window is an instant-kill coin flip due to all the combinations available in the game. The real issue isn’t Arcstrider — it’s the environment it exists in.
