WTH My score just drops by half over night cheers what’s great way to earn the helmet for me aye waste of my time even bothering to think this was gunna get me hyped for Renegades nope another flop and other disappointing performance from the Great BUNGIE

2 RepliesThis event is garbage. The hvt should ALWAYS be there. Not on 1 out 25 runs which has to be without the score drones that bug out like the shield drones. Crap like this is why D2 is not dying it is already dead. I already have Renegades preordered but that is probably last money they get from me. They rigged it so lower power level gets bigger score help to get more points than us 550 power. If your under power score get you close like top 10% not top 1%. Way to reward the people not playing your game to get to 550 and taking a big dump on those of us who never left. I think i leave so next time i play bungie can just hand me everything so i dont have to earn it. RIP Destiny 2.

I hit top one percent in four categories, and two of them yesterday. Today I am just out of top 1% in all four. Crucible by one single point. 13565 out of the needed 13566. Now there are services selling 1% placement finishes, and using all sorts of exploits to drive up the high scores. Again as paid for services. We never stood a chance in this. It’s not a competition. It’s another in-game waste of time.

1 ReplyI figured this thing out last night. To get the helmet you are going to have to do most of the activities using LFG fireteams so you can custom set the modifiers above the default difficulty to like A or A+ Doing that got me from 70 up to 170.

2 RepliesYou are high enough power to get a Salt Mines run that will be pretty untouchable. Run the hammer build with Hammer of Sol (not Burning Maul). Load Salt Mines on the maximum difficulty with maximum modifiers. Reload if you don't get Ability Kills or Combatant Kills as a side mission. Reload if you don't the HVT at the bottom of the drop down. Run it until you can clear with 7 minutes left. That should get the maximum possible score. Clearing with 6:45 left is probably safe as well.

FWIW: in a nutshell, the fiery protuberance ‘helmet’ (😜) is bringing out the best from our hardcore ‘hares’, doing everything possible to get the highest score possible. It’s quite amazing to watch them go at it! But, it also inspired ‘Members’ of The 70% Club to enter the arena, and strut their own brand of dark space magic. 😈 IYKYK 🙄 It became abundantly clear to me, that this event was not for this old tortoise. So, after a run at most of the quests, I gave it a miss, and concentrated on slowly raising my gear level - though not just chasing specifically for 550, via the Strike and the Crucible CtA events. And that’s worked out okay for me! 🤔 However, my CtA score won’t make the cut for the helmet. Not an issue. 🫤 My Suggestion: it would have been better to include the helmet in the event loot bar, so anyone who has played whatever elements of the CtA events that naturally advance the loot bar rewards, will get the helmet…just like the ship / sparrow / etc. That would then leave the final reward emblem to those that want to grind for it - as mentioned above, free to enjoy the chase… That way - everyone wins! 👍 Final point on the helmet: it could also have been handled slightly differently by awarding every participant in the event the helmet, hidden in that event lootbox (unlocked) in the Tower, at the conclusion of the event. The difference being, that depending on a player’s overall accumulated score, the length of the fiery protuberance would reflect such, and would be an easy to see split, eg, there are 4x lengths… That would make everyone happy! 😁 Or not?! 😤 That is all. Play Fair! Play Nice! CHEAT Not! 👈👈👈 Ease Springs! 🖖👻

Yes it sucks, just do not play. I tried a few times, i, me, cannot get it done. I have walked away. Bungie wants to make something for all the elite players at 550 LL, fine, I just will not participate.

Moving the goal Post was definitely not the correct move... The rules and rewards should have been made clear a month ago the scoring originally was fine it's the lack of consistency that's bad and a lack of solo verity should have had at least 3 solo options for events missions and no RNG objectives for competitive consistency....

I was 1% on proving grounds and now I’m 10% with needing another 11k to get higher. Best bet is to run it Thursday/Friday as scores get locked out last 72 hours.

It's BS 550 players are know getting punished to be 550????? We play when there game is dead is and this is what we get?
