Destiny and Linux

Greetings fellow Guardians and hopefully Bungie! Many of you likely are aware that Windows 10 has reached its end of support. Some might be able to claim an Extended Security Updates hence leaving room for Windows 11 becoming more desirable, Windows 12 to release and hopefully be better, and leave time for Linux software and tools to be further enhanced to allow for easy transition away from Windows. Currently my desktop is running Windows 10 with ESU and my laptop is running Linux Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS. I wanted to download Destiny 2 onto my laptop to go see how Festival of the Lost is going this year around. I hence started the download and went to search up which version of Proton to use or if I had to go through some hoops with Wine/Bottles. Landing on the Bungie Help article I was sad to see that not only is Destiny 2 not supported on Linux, but that players who attempt to work around it will be met outright with an account ban. The reason to this was speculated by another Linux user into a Steam Community post to be done so to limit cheaters into the Destiny ecosystem. Now I need to make it clear that I am european and thus I have standards for consumer protection and notices. The blatant lack of clear notices outside a Bungie Help page is unacceptable and thus I feel it isn't far fetch to desire either a lift of this hostile anti-consumer ban for playing on something that isn't Windows or that the appropriate steps are taken to warn consumers that Destiny cannot be played on Linux and occurs a risk of account ban. I also want to make it clear that this isn't demanding an official flawless support from Bungie as Linux users and its community are more than capable of making it work. Thank you for reading to the end! I will be trying to read comments and provide answers to questions if any. Keep it civil and constructive! Some may recognize this post, it is an edit of my former post which also mention BattlEye and security, which I have cut out since it seems like it biased people toward thinking I was wanting cheaters to run wild, which isn't the case.
