What we need for Renegades QOL right now

This is going to be very simple these things need to happen. I don't understand why they haven't. Given Bungies approach with a new saga but these 3 things need to happen now 1 - Strand and Prismatic fragments for Glimmer. There is no need to lock these any more. We are not incentivized to go do old content just for fragments or items to buy those fragments with. We are locked to certain builds based on this and this is not what Bungie wants. 2 - Matchmaking - Why on earth am I going to go into Fireteam Ops only to play, mostly right now, Reclaim which is one of if not the worst grp activity. Everything else is Solo or I need to find a fireteam via fireteam finder. For a Raid I understand FTF but for these Dungeon Lairs, BGs, etc this is uncalled for and should have been changed for a while now 3 - Remove the Glimmer cap, we have been asking for this forever now theres no need to explain why we have been asking for this.

  • Lol, haha — this guy thinks Bungie is still working on Renegades. You must not be a big fan of Bungie. I’ll explain. Bungie has a certain system they work by — see their GCX “Ted Talk” from a few years ago. The game Destiny is developed through the following systematic philosophy: There’s the current game, which is usually about 6–8 months behind their development cycle. So, anything you wish for now would take about eight months to be implemented, especially major core changes like glimmer or fragments. Then Bungie has their test build — basically where they build and tweak stuff — which is about 2–6 months behind the main development branch. And finally, there’s the active development stage, where they’re “cooking” new content. This stage can be anywhere from the present up to six months ahead. How do we know this is true? For example, “The Portal” was promoted during Into the Light, the free update before The Final Shape. If you’ve kept track of Destiny’s production patterns, you’ll notice their development cycle looks like this: • 6 months ahead: Development (the “cook time”) • 0–6 months: Implementation and internal testing (they build the game here, but don’t really test it deeply) • 6–8 months behind: The live version of the game — this is where we, the players, effectively test everything while Bungie mainly ensures there are no exploits or monetization loopholes. And the cycle continues — like we’re batteries 🪫 fueling their spending habits. If you want major changes to the game, first, you’re on the wrong platform — no Bungie dev has ever responded here. Honestly, I don’t even know where you’d go to complain. Second, to give you an idea of what the future probably looks like: Bungie has set their sights on Marathon. If it doesn’t succeed, Bungie will likely be absorbed by Sony. Destiny will probably get one more expansion — it’s already in development — but it likely won’t be great. It’ll be heavily monetized to cover the debt Bungie’s already accumulated. There will be no direct changes to Renegades, because that expansion is already finalized. It’s not being worked on anymore. The sentiment that Destiny is in a “rough” state doesn’t resonate with Bungie right now — their priority is Marathon, not Destiny. Destiny is just their leftover cash cow 🐄. And even if Bungie wanted to change Destiny, it would take at least a year and three months — you can’t just change a workflow that’s been this entrenched, even if the product left over isn’t great. And I’m not a big advocate of listening to streamers, but last week they have all been to bungie and the collective sounds is. Renegade will be trash. 🗑️. Hope this helps your frustration.
