I am bad at PVP and I hardly play since it’s very unequal for a weak player but there are weekly challenges you get to win 20 Trails and I notice when I join sometimes Pro player on my team will be very furious and yell all sort of nasty things like ‘why do you play Trails your so bad’ or some foul language.
I understand their feelings but for people like us there is no separate node or matchup system. So how does rest of you deal with in a situation like this? Is there a specific day those Pro players don’t play?

I get frustrated when all the pve potatoes are on my team. But my frustration is mixed. I’m more just upset that trials got so gutted that there is no incentive to play well or try anymore.
-
People are so toxic. I’m not even bad at PvP and I get hate mail messages. The craziest one was from someone who ran in and died and complained before the round was even over that we didn’t push with him. It’s like bro, you ran out into the middle of the map, got lit up like a Christmas tree, and then blamed us?

3 RepliesI honestly can't wait for the day this game dies solely so I wont have to read people spelling it Trails anymore.
-
I've been walking on this lonely "Trail" for weeks man...
-
4 RepliesIts all good. I'm not a very good PVP player either, but I have all the trail weapons god rolls and more. Disable chat, turn the mic off. Let them fume to the air. To help out a bit, put mods on your armor that help with aim down sights, target assistance, resistances, ammo gen, etc..no point in using weapons mods to get orbs as you will not be making enough kills to gen orbs. Use skills that suppress or blind...they normally have a shorter cooldown. And have fun! After 450 is T5 rain!
-
Just turn off all ways to communicate with you and just have your own fun in there. Ignore the others but still try and play as a team. I mean shoot the same way, follow a team mate etc Thats what I do and got to the lighthouse easily on Saturday.
-
3 RepliesTurn off your microphone, disable text chat, ignore them and get your weekly challenge done. These are not "pro players", professional people are normally the most courteous and helpful people you will meet as they have nothing to prove, they are already very good at what they do.
-
2 RepliesPlay the non lighthouse card. Lighthouse is pointless now anyway. Tier 5 loot drops at the end of matches quite frequently if you’re above 450 so happy days🤣 And…try not to die. Hide behind better players and just try to get some damage on the enemy team👊🏻
-
1 ReplyI’ve had to catch myself from raging, when getting potat… less skilled people on my teams 😂. It is silly to get upset about it. If all the lower skilled people dropped out of Trials, the list would be more of a nightmare than It already is now.
-
But for a second, imagine Trails of Osiris from Bot-14’s POV. You see this hit squad ravaging a poor mismatched fireteam. Or see this lone guardian getting escorted to the lighthouse like Leon Kennedy’s helpless Ashley in RE2. Be like “Report back to Shaw Han, Guardian!!”

Anyone who says "trails" deserves to get put in a higher bracket they can't compete in.
-
“Pro players” you mean cheaters? After seeing how much scum cheated I don’t trust anyone who says they’re “gOoD aT DeStINy” so much cheating and people have said and shown it’s so easy to cheat. This is why Trials and Competitive should not be taken seriously. Pffffffft* 🤦♂️ people are out here thinking they’re getting good using aim bot.

Playing Trails is a good way to see how you are improving. Below average player here too. But since we can jump into match making trails I have enjoyed pvp a little better. I know I hender some hardcore players but for the most part it has been all good. Tell you what is kool is seeing or playing with one of the really good pvp. And I just get amazed
-
There’s a difference between a player that’s better than you and a good player. The latter you can learn from and the former will only ever complain about their own desires. Learn to spot the difference and therefore which one to open your own process up to. Once you can do that, you’ll be better able to answer your own question about trials. My own opinion though would be that there’s better things to do with your time than play a mode that played a not insignificant role in lighting Destiny 2 on fire.
-
I’m like you I’m not a good pvp player I try my best if you try your best know one can argue 👍
-
lol low low numbers and what’s left are all the sweaty full timers who live on pvp . D2 pvp is cooked and cheating galore….its a circus . Sweaties get help lol

Edited by Dooodley: 11/10/2025 2:21:32 AMI feel you, brother, I'm in the same position. With no available iron banner or rift and me refusing to get the Gahrlan data pad I'm probably going to be forced to play trials. With the current population it's going to be rough regardless of what card I pick up. Wish they'd just auto-complete the rift and IB challenges so I wouldnt have to do this to myself and others :) Also, would freaking help if we knew the amount of upcoming challenges. Is the upcoming week the last week, how many challenges will it have or will there be more weeks? Would have been nice to know how much leeway we have.
-
If you aren't a competent player pick up the card on the left & then you won't ruin someone else's flawless run ✌🏼
-
Happy trails! Yippee Kai ayyyyy

There are 2 trials cards. A lighthouse passage and a trials passage. If you are not confident running trials but dont care for mementos and cosmetics, prevent yourself getting a headache a play the trials passage, you can still get tier 5 loot if you are 450. Practice in there. Other than that, solo queing is just...risky as a weak player. Seeing as you have to play wisely without communication and play close with your team.
-
Honestly, don’t take what anyone says seriously in PvP. If they’re salty or raging - they need to go touch grass. Do your best and have fun. Sometimes it’s frustrating but I’ve carried players through wins if they’re very low skilled. It’s a challenge! The best thing you can do is support fire with your teammates. Use what you’re most comfortable with.
-
No pro player will msg you. That probably was a basement dweller or some punk who gets carried and expected you to get carried
-
5 RepliesIt’s trials buddy not quickplay. If you want something earn it. I didn’t become a pro player overnight. It took hours of my time to become greatness.
-
Pro player? lol. Most likely you just met an angry basement dwellers whose mom forgot to buy their refill of Cheerios. Except against cheaters, there is absolutely no reason to be discourteous. It’s match made so you take a chance on who you get paired with. Turn off your mic, try your best and have fun. (PS: and report this guy it’s not up to you to play when he’s not bothered).

Edited by midnightcodi: 11/9/2025 10:11:24 PMTell them “you get an award whether we win or lose” and then proceed to jump off the side every time you guys respawn out of spite… I’m in the same boat not a very good PVP player, but after hours of grinding did manage to get to the lighthouse today …. I bought the wrong ticket on my first seven wins and had to go buy a new ticket which erased the seven wins…. Thanks to all who carried me because most of my wins were with experts …

Who gives a crap. You paid for the game, play it whenever you want.
