So, is the light saber behind the Dungeon?
Stop dancing around the question Bungie, it’s yes or no.
Please don’t let silence be your way to mislead people into buying Renegades, I don’t think you have the credibility left to pull one off on the community.

You can go back and visit the devstream talking about Renegades, they talk about the Praxic Blade starting at ~21 minutes. My takeaway was that the lightsaber is going to be craftable (they call out customizability). They then comment that these upgrades will be 'scattered across the Lawless Frontier, Turf War, and the Dungeon'. So we probably get the base version in Season Pass or Renegades story and then these upgrades will be locked behind content.

1 ReplyIf eververse is selling different colours, skins etc for the light saber then I'm sure it'll be very easy for all to acquire, then the pop up will appear on your screen directing you to the cash shop.

2 RepliesI mean, I’m just not pre-ordering (I wasn’t already, but anyway) and I’ll wait for the reviews/reveals on the forums to decide whether or not I’ll buy Renegades. We’ll find out one way or the other, just takes a little restraint.

5 RepliesIt wouldn’t surprise me in the SLIGHTEST if it’s locked behind the Dungeon. And it REALLY wouldn’t surprise me if the Dungeon was locked behind a paywall.

The peasant version (ie what I’d be able to get) may be available outside the dungeon. But the catalysts that make it worth having will probably be locked behind some hard mode dungeon clears. -

If not, then they are going to p.ss off a lot of people. I don't mind a grindy quest either. Edited to add more comments

I’m guessing most of the upgrades/catalyst might come from the dungeon. It would be insane to tease the story characters using lightsabers to then just lock it behind a dungeon 3 weeks ahead of release.

I hope not. We got 3 at the beginning of eof: scout (pass), hand cannon (quest), and raid weapon. Either it or the crossbow will be in the season pass. The other will be a quest. And then there should be another exotic in the dungeon. If the saber isn't in the pass, it should be a quest we can get from the beginning. I want to get it asap and use it all expansion. I'm sure others feel the same way, and bungie knows this. Delaying when we get it would be a mistake.

1 ReplyThis week's TWID listed the light saber and the Wookie crossbow as exotics. If Bungie follows the model of the last 2 season passes, then one of those will be unlocked in the paid season pass at level 1. My guess is it will be the saber. Then, upgrades/catalysts/cosmetics will be via dungeon and maybe other content.

I doubt they just give it to us. Either grinding the new dungeon, or a long -blam!- quest chain. I’d say it’ll prolly be craftable and only come from ultra super hard mode dungeon.
