Now that everyone has time to settle, after long and tedious grinds, after trial and errors, and after changes and patches to improve the power climb experience, I think one aspect still needs to be addressed : activity timers.
Bungie talks about “build crafting” left and right, but the cold truth is there is no build crafting since EOF. For the most part you need Mint, an ability spam, and eager edge sword for fast movement in order to make the activity timer. Don’t get me wrong, run and gun is fun sometimes, but because of the time restrictions (on top of numerous negative modifiers), we’re forced to do that all the time. In many scenarios there’s no room to test guns, builds or simply enjoy the game. Some days I don’t mind sweating, but I also like to slow down and enjoy the gunplay with different load outs.
I don’t know if bungie even read their own feedback forum, but I thought I’d bring up this issue. The restrictive timer / time limit for bonus should be seriously looked at. (Maybe completion grants the focused gears, while completion before time limit bonus grants extra loot.)
Even though there’s a lot of negativity and toxicity surrounding the game, some of us would like to see Destiny 2 thrive again.

1 ReplyThis is what happens when the game director is a diablo goon trying to emulate Rift/Pit runs.

I agree, but people have been complaining about timed events for years and Bunlge ignores them. They can't get their heads past the idea that not all players gun and run and some stop to smell the smoke of death. I like to kick back with my cat and relax a bit between challenging sections, but that's not allowed. Play how you want, as long as it's the way Bungle decrees.

1 ReplyExotic pinnacle solo runs used to be fun prior to the deltas. Now, between the deltas and timers I'm not even playing them anymore - and that really put a dent in my activity.

I think that’s a great idea. I’m a solo player 99 percent of the time, and I just quit playing again because nothing is fun anymore. It’s either impossible for a solo player or impossible for the time limit. I’m not the speed run caliber player that some of those crazy mf’ers on YouTube are.

Edited by cryptic_king_241: 11/8/2025 3:07:22 AMThey need to fix the ones with timers that really aren't long enough to complete the activity normally. Contest of Elders being that at the top of the list. 28m is maybe enough to get you into the first room of the final run of CoE before the end boss run. Them having not fixed that yet, tells me they haven't even begun to look into a fix for the end of activity loot issue. That one isn't a skill issue, it's an issue that this currently is only completable by players that use a 1shot kill cheat.

Edited by Howiepenguin: 11/8/2025 2:17:35 AMI too still hope. We gotta hold on to hope. It's the last thing that's holding me. That's why I still come on to these forums. In hopes that I will see an actual change for the better. Not what they keep doing to try and backpedal. The fact that they added timers again just shows they don't know what we want. They had timers in NFs at the start of D2 that would kick us to orbit if we didn't finish in time. And now we're back to timers that hinder us in new ways. They can't help themselves when it comes to timers for some reason. I'm starting to think there is a dev or devs that have a thing for speedrunning in that studio. It's too niche to be forcing on to everyone on practically everything.
