Okay, finally.
Not sure the whole "DEI" ordeal, but kutos for recognizing all who served their country, and those who contributed to vets who served. Much respect. Thanks to all who served.
Disabled, 100% Againistan era US vet . Some gave all, but all gave some.

32 RepliesFirst of all, thank you for your service. Sincerely, thank you. Pouring one out for Richard as well, may he rest in peace. Secondly, this is just another Bungie goodwill ploy. Most corporate charities are scams used as a means to buffer taxes. They don't really care, they just want to use you. Kinda like how corporations have latched onto any sort of cause as a means to garner goodwill. Be it veterans, pride month, black history month. The list goes on. Don't let them fool you.

1 ReplyI’m a genuine veteran and really don’t give a monkeys. It’s personal and I don’t need to broadcast it with a gaming banner 😂

Yeah….I do think it’s pretty awesome that there’s an emblem for it now. Pretty cool. A positive in a sea of negativity lately.

Almost like they were told to do it,since they haven’t for years.

1 ReplyTo ask people to look deeper into the context of these words rather than signposting and scapegoating. Imo, "Diversity" is one of reasons why the US military is great. "Equity"... because Veterans are underrepresented and neglected by our leadership. These words... these concepts, aren't inherently bad. "Inclusion"... because that's foundational to a republic and a Democracy... that citizens of all walks of life are included in the process. For example, the term "Woke" is a Christian term originating in Black Churches, that was co-opted by the Evangelical community... I was brought to a "wake" with a friend years ago. They did tours. Now it's used as a cudgel against progressives or anyone that doesn't bend the knee to the conservative consensus. It used to be a word that meant "uplifting" people. Now it's used a synonym and derivative for "virtue signaling". Which is a problem no matter who it comes from. And Bungie has supported Veterans causes for years... hired Veterans, included them in said initiatives. It's been a min since they've done a push like this, but supporting Vets is something Bungie has always done. And disaster relief. Mental Health. 😇👍💠

4 RepliesWhy was the "whole DEI" comment even thrown in this post? Was it necessary? And I'm serving now, about to retire next June. And it doesn't bother me WHATSOEVER if Bungie or ANY other gaming platforms recognize us. I'm still confused as to why this is such an issue on this forum. Seriously. I didn't serve with Destiny in mind. Still don't. I hope you don't spend your days going around doing this to every platform who doesn't see your views.

6 RepliesIn 1940 Winston Churchill said "Never in the field of human conflict was so much, owed to so many, by so few" about the pilots of Fighter Command who saved us from invasion in the Battle of Britain. When I was in the RAF I remember asking a Spitfire pilot who fought in the Battle what he thought of those words. He said "We thought he was talking about our back pay". The greatest generation.

149 RepliesWhat "DEI ordeal" and what does it have to do with the topic?

Not sure the whole "DEI" ordeal
Veterans are included in DEI programs. In fact, Vice President JD Vance was accepted to Yale because of a DEI program they had for veterans.

So i wish my US colleagues every success in this worthy cause. I will be making my donations to the Royal British Legion who do amazing support work for our services & their families.
