This is my conclusion. We'll start there...
It's a great ****ing sign.
Censored profanity for emphasis, lol.
The 'words of the day':
"Known Value".
"Cost Analysis".
If Bungie had full agency over these factors we'd have a roadmap by now.
Now it might seem obvious to say that they don't... however Sony and many major platform/distributors have let projects, Studios die on the vine.
Remember Anthem. Bioware teased a relaunch of the game that never happened. That was their plan... not EA's though.
Sony will... IS investing.
Guess who they hired about a month ago. A great Bioware executive. Whom pivoted DA away from the microtransaction multiplayer slop EA wanted. It died anyway... but she still knows what this is...
I don't think she would have taken the job, if Sony wasn't trying to learn from Andy Wilson's mistakes.
So, that's the analysis... a big ship turns slow.

1 ReplyIt's a bit hard to do a roadmap if you're not even sure that the road won't just end abruptly. That's the sole reason there hasn't been one As for Hidey, her record has been... variable, I think it's fair to say. She absolutely shone at marketing during her early days, but the latter stuff and the production work has been... okay, I suppose? (She was also behind some narrative choices in DA:TV that left people far from impressed). I think it's important to remember what her actual role at Bungie is, though - marketing. It's her job to sell what the rest of the team deliver, not influence it. And that involves selling it to Sony as much as selling it to the rest of us. Big ships may turn slow, but they also sink fast (just ask anyone on the Titanic)..
