Like a lot of people, I stopped playing with Edge Of Fate. I tried the portal one time and was like "nope!" Lol. And I still will not mess with that. But, I patrolled a few times the last few days out of boredom and there is no denying how good the gameplay is. I love the look, movement, abilities, and gun play of all 3 characters. It's really cool to see stasis crystals getting blown up by threadlings while everything around it is either on fire, or getting lightning called down on it. The way everyone's abilities react with one another, and all the combinations you can use. I've never found a game that comes close to that. I hate that they changed it so much; it feels like the old director is pointless. Just give me back my GM Node and I may grind again lol.

That's one way to think about it. I still can't get over I'm only 428 power and I played alot. Now I don't want to play anymore. Burnt out to say the least. Can't imagine grinding to 550. Try battlefield BR its a good break from Destiny.

1 ReplyThat's the spirit... Chase the fun brother. Your entertainment is all that is needed.

7 RepliesWell, any game is enjoyable if you just play while turning the blind eye on any problem

Gameplay has always been Bungie's biggest selling point. The issue is the content. When you have the toys but nowhere to really use it other than the portal, which is mainly recycled content. That's the issue.

Other than the movement, abilities, and gameplay they dismantled everything good about the game.

1 ReplySo has Bungie.. ..

Coincidentally, I’m the same with the exception I just do any portal activity with bonus rewards. I don’t understand many things yet, but like you said, the effects and abilities and gunplay are so much fun. I’m more casual than before, but I’m back for good.

Once you have a little experience with the Portal you might realize it's actually pretty sweet. Bungie has made a lot of changes over the last 3 months. Don't take the word of people who don't understand how it works. I suggest you find out for yourself. It's definitely still a work in progress but it's a lot easier to see the vision.

7 RepliesIn my experience, this game is just like any other; play for fun and when that stops happening, play something else.

Remove portal game still remains. Thankfully. Hopefully this experiment called portal gets the death it deserves.

Weapon use is second to none. And though I never will master the jump part of any jump 'n run game I still play this one. At least currently.

2 RepliesGameplay was never an issue. It's entirely quality of life changes that bring the whole game down.

It’s why we are all still here! This game has such an unbelievable amount of potential. But 50% of the time they just shoot themselves in the foot by using a hammer to solve every problem. The portal for example fixed a few problems with the game. But they created twice as many big ones when they did! After this many years of D1/D2 I’m already in it for the long haul. The decisions Bungie makes just decides how much I play. Many people either quit or took a break this season. I did neither, but I also played less than potentially any other point in the games history. Sometimes doing enough to get the powerful drops from Zavala and logging off for the week again.

5 RepliesThat’s the spirit! I’ve been doing overthrow in PH for class items and ergo sum and it feels good to do chill activities, no modifiers just some good times with random guardians.

3 RepliesOne thing I realized with Borderlands 4 is that there's nothing out there that really controls or plays quite as tight as Destiny 2, and the variety of build crafting and gameplay agency is hard to deny. Destiny 2 is tight, it's fluid, its gameplay is fun, the buildcrafting is imaginative, there are a lot of things that Destiny 2 does right - but then there are a lot of times Bungie gets in its own way, too. I can't quit this game, nothing feels like it.
