Constant Marmot Issues

Hello, I'm experiencing consistent game hangs at the character selection screen since October 21st. The game stops responding (Event ID 1002) and requires Task Manager to force-close. After extensive troubleshooting, I believe this may be related to known stability issues with version 41270.0.0.0. SYSTEM SPECS: - CPU: Intel Core i7-14700F (20 cores / 28 logical processors) - RAM: 32 GB DDR5-5200MHz - GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 - Driver: 32.0.15.8157 (October 9, 2025) - Windows: Build 26200 - Game Version: 41270.0.0.0 ISSUE: Game consistently hangs when loading into the character selection screen. No error code - just stops responding. This happens EVERY time I try to launch the game. Frequency: 12+ times in the last 7 days, all at the exact same point. TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED: - Updated NVIDIA drivers to latest - Disabled all overlays (NVIDIA, Discord, Steam) - Closed all background applications - Verified game file integrity (multiple times) - Ran Windows System File Checker (sfc /scannow) - Ran DISM health restoration - Checked memory and disk health (all healthy) - Confirmed BattlEye anti-cheat is properly installed - Attempted clean boot environment System specifications exceed recommended requirements. No hardware issues detected. This is specifically a Destiny 2 application hang, not a system crash. CRASH DETAILS: I can attach the full crash report with timestamps and event log entries. QUESTIONS: 1. Are there known issues with version 41270.0.0.0? 2. Are there pending hotfixes for character selection hangs? 3. Is there a workaround to bypass this issue? 4. This appears related to the Edge of Fate DLC stability issues - can you confirm? Thanks for any help!

 • Hi there, Some users were able to resolve this issue by configuring their audio settings in windows. Please try the following steps:
- Go to Windows > Settings > App Volume and Device Preferences - Verify that Steam is set to default - Launch Destiny 2 - Return to App Volume and Device Preferences - Set Destiny to default - Force close Destiny 2 using task manager
If you're still getting stuck on the same screen after trying this out, please let us know.
