Players now get more rewards, which means fewer activities will be needed to level up. BUT, due to the forced -30 power delta, every activity will take longer to complete. Fewer activities, but MORE TIME. This is a net loss for players.
When the folks at Bungie get together to discuss potential changes, they are not thinking about how to make leveling easier/faster. They’re just trying to find ways to make it appear they are improving things, while keeping the grind hours (& player count) as high as possible.
They can’t give without taking. It’s always a trade-off.
EDIT: Based on the split responses, it’s clear the delta changes can be seen as better or worse depending on one’s preferred settings and play style. This post was not about difficulty, -30 and -50 aren’t difficult. It’s about the fact that Bungie could have sped up the grind a long time ago and done so without fixed power deltas.

I can only talk for myself. On my way from 450 to 500. Constant tier 5 loot, no problem. At least one +1 or +2 item, with bonus engrams more. I think it's neither better or worse than last weeks and time consuming but easy to level up. As long as you enjoy playing which I currently do and are willing to invest the time it is a long but smooth upgrade path, of course you/I need to play the portal for that matter. Take care and be positive and if this game only leads to bad emotions for you personally then do something else which brings fun. Best case, real life!
