At least put Trials, Iron Banner and live events back on rotation. This is a simple flip of a switch. Couple things: 1. Destiny 1 still has an active player base, despite what Reddit neckbeards would have you believe. I play regularly on PS5 and there has been a broad resurgence of interest and players. 2. "Bringing back Destiny 1 will hurt the Destiny 2 player base." To this, I would ask you to simply observe the steam charts. Destiny 2 doesn't need Destiny 1's help with that. 3. Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 don't need to be pit against each other. They are fundamentally different games made for different audiences. Destiny 2 is live service, seasonal content and resets, new loot refreshes. Destiny 1 is a box service game with an ongoing progression system. I can tell you having spent a lot of time in both games, Destiny 1 players truly love Destiny. We would just enjoy something to help keep this game and community alive. I hope that fans of the second game will be understanding of this. There is nothing wrong with preferring an older game. You can say all you want about nostalgia and rose tinted glasses. However, that doesn't really explain why someone would actively choose one game over another. I know that doesn't speak for me and my experience. I don't choose D1 because I'm simply nostalgic and blind. I genuinely prefer the loot chase, progression, atmosphere and music, mechanics and simplicity.
