Being falsely banned from the game due to server issues

So I’ve been a destiny two player since the launch of the war mind if not, maybe before that when curse of Osiris came out in the 8 years that I have played this game, I have never been banned for any type of reason for cheating account recoveries any kind of network manipulation and paid recoveries for other people‘s accounts. I have followed the code of conduct for 8 years recently on 09/16/2025 I was having issues with Destiny 2 with the launch of if the iron banner update before the update got pushed out. I was playing trials of Osiris and I had no issues whatsoever before that but now when I Banner came out on 09/16/2025 when the service went down for maintenance I got off the game played a different game. In the meantime I had no connectivity issues whatsoever when the update was pushed out on that date. I updated Destiny 2 once the game finished uploading, I logged on I wasn’t waiting in a queue. I was able to log on get on my character, but as soon as I get on my character and go to the portal, the game begins to freeze on the portal when selecting crucible or when selecting to want to go to the tower I ended up having to reset my console multiple times because the game was freezing. I have done my due diligence with clearing out the cache from the console, the game, checking my Internet and checking to see if there was any outages with Microsoft? I had no point had any outages from Microsoft nor any issues from my Internet provider nor any hardware issues. On that week at iron Banner dropped on 09/16/2025 there have been server issues on that day where we couldn’t even get on the game to even play it. I let the game sit for over two hours before I locked back on and was able to play with no issues. I played multiple iron banner matches, and then the following day on 09/17/2025 I got home from work and logged onto the game and played iron banner I played four matches before going to bed because I work third shift. After that I went and picked up my girlfriend’s daughter from school and I didn’t get on the game for over 14 hours because I was dedicating time to my girlfriend’s daughter watching movies I log back onto the game at 9:51 PM Eastern time before going to work just to find out that I got banned. I feel that Bungie has a big issue with people falsely reporting other people and getting people banned for no reason I know many people are going to ask what it is that I did and I’m going to state it right now. I never cheated. I never performed any account recoveries I’ve never violated the code of conduct in the eight years playing this game I have done everything the way Bungie has intended for me to play the game. But I will not sit here and get accused. For something that I didn’t even do I still have an open ticket for this ban that bungie has yet to respond to I have gotten quicker responses to duplicate tickets stating the first ticket, and I’ve gotten a quick response, saying that the restriction will not be uplifted for the duration of the time that I have left on it I don’t even know how much time I have left on the restriction if it’s my first offense or something, the band should’ve been at least a week or two. I’m going close to a month. I have done everything from checking Internet with my provider hardware with Microsoft and there is no issues on my end everything is coming from bungee and and they wanted to throw it on me saying that there is still issues from my end when everything is green and good to go on my end this may seem like a rant, but if I don’t speak out, my voice will not be heard. They are legit cheaters and hackers out there messing the game up for everyone else, but I get banned for no reason and I feel like that’s not right. It’s frustrating that I can’t get to play the game. that I’ve invested so much in. I feel like the people who are falsely reporting other people to get people’s band because their skills are not up to par they should be punishable for falsely accusing someone of cheating or network manipulation when there has never been any kind of network manipulation or cheating.

 • Hello there, The forums are not able to assist with appeals of suspensions, restrictions or bans. Posting in the forums cannot assist you beyond linking you to the appeal and speculation. However, there is a process in place for players to appeal their ban or restriction. If you feel the ban was placed in error, feel free to review this Page, and submit the form at the bottom. If you have already submitted a ticket than you have done all that you can do. The appeal process will trigger a 2nd review of your situation and if the ban was incorrect it will be lifted, if found to be valid, it will remain. If more than 1-2 weeks have passed or your ticket is closed without contact, it is generally safe to assume that Bungie found the ban to be properly placed and will not be modified. Tickets are often left open as a method of tracking multiple submissions and is not represenative of if a ticket has been reviewed. Multiple submissions, submitting inappropriate content, and/or abuse of this contact form may result in further account restrictions. Bungie will typically respond only if more info is needed or if the ban/restriction is altered. The form is for appeals only, they do not answer questions as to why or how long.
Requests for additional information, such as the length of a restriction or reason for a ban, will be disregarded. https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049024492
Please note that while every appeal is reviewed by Bungie Security Staff, as mentioned in the article, there is no guarantee for a response, nor is there a guarantee that the ban or restriction will be overturned. For more information on Bungie's policy regarding bans and restrictions, please review the policy here. Bungie never, ever takes action against players based solely on reports from other players. They understand the problems that doing so would present. Reports can only trigger reviews of the account(s).  At best, reports (regardless of quantity) flag an account for review.

 • Hey there, just to confirm, is this a 'not so fast...' ban? These are not given for network issues, and reports do nothing unless there's a valid issue being reported. Bungie will only respond to the ticket if they intend to overturn the ban or require further information; if neither happens within about 4-6 weeks then it should be assumed that the ban is being upheld. Bungie leave the tickets open, this is likely to capture repeat appeals which are not allowed - duplicate tickets are automatically discarded. If it is indeed a 'no so fast...' ban, this is a permaban, it's technically marked down as 500 years because they have to specify an actual number. The forum is unable to assist any furher than the above information.
