I've been playing the FFT remake a lot recently, and I'm amazed at how patient I must have been as a child, watching these characters slowly go through their motions without the benefit of a fast forward button. It feels sort of like a ten player board game, each player taking their turn, thinking about their moves, doing their dice rolls; like, you can imagine what a ten character turn based RPG would feel like!
And yet I love the game even with those flaws. It's weird how engrossing it can be to watch a battle unfold. Yeah, it's slow, but it's all deliberate, and a single move can change the whole course of the battle; it's slow, but it lives up to its genre of being a tactical RPG.
I'd recommend checking out FFT, but Destiny 2 and FFT are such drastically different games that I can't tell you for sure that you'll like it.
Anyway, FFT is a perfect game and I've missed the hell out of it, it's great to play it again, nothing feels quite like a Monk head punching some dude to death.

I've only ever played FFTA, this sounds like a good excuse to finally try FFT.
