With players getting burnt out and the constant grind for power being the only thing to do in Destiny with 90% of the game being sunset. Destiny is in a strange place right now and a place that it's lost it's identity as a looter shooter. With the grind to power being the only end game activity outside of raids and dungeons how about we make the biggest change to Destiny in years. Lets see what we have. Each season we would get an artifact that we could unlock mods that gave us great power and mods that were either neish or okay... With some seasons having better mods than others. However each season we would get an artifact. Whilst the portal in concept is good the execution is terrible and whilst we can kick that can down the road for years to come if the portal was used for a place for focus loot then lets use it for that. But what makes Destiny, Destiny? Is it getting in a random raid chat with someone eating their mic, Someone that doesn't have a mic or someone that is just not speaking the kings English! Destiny at it's core has a lot to offer however the recession of content has started to see just how much this game has aged and also hasn't provided much in the way of new content or engaging content. Whilst DMG is listening .. To the new Taylor Swift Album not the Community one of the biggest changes could come to the game that could be controversial however if executed could mean that we say good bye to the power climb and grind completely. So what does this look like. Well Bungie have openly put old seasons to be purchased in the tower and this all leads into where we can go next. Power is the key word. Whilst it's fun to grind for a little power the power grind towards the end game gives even the dedicated players PTSD. So what can we replace power with. Well removing power completely would have to be replaced with something and is the seasonal Artifacts. So how does it work? Each previous season would give you an artifact like a piece of gear. You can then unlock ALL mods to use and once everything is unlocked you then prestige your artifact giving you a % bonus to all mods on that artifact and add to weapons used from that season also gain an additional dmg bonus (Like we have now). But that doesn't stop their you go all the way to rank 5 with 5 being the top and being labelled ascendancy. This would mean people just gain experience as they play the game and get to level their artifact up naturally. They can then once completing one equip another and level this up. This means that previous seasons are kept in the game and the weapons earnt or reprised also have some value. This also means everyone can play the game how they want to... No portal... No power grinds just jump into Gambit, a dungeon or a raid and go and have fun.
